Full Bio

Gunnar Rundgren is a farmer, author, and longtime leader in the organic agriculture movement. Since the 1970s, he has worked across the organic sector—from farming and certification to policy and international development. He founded [https://www.krav.se/en/for-companies/certification-bodies/ KRAV], Sweden’s leading organic certification body, and later served as president of the [https://www.ifoam.bio/ International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements] from 2000 to 2005.

Rundgren has consulted for organizations such as the [https://www.worldbank.org/ext/en/home World Bank] and the [https://www.sida.se/en Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency], and is the author of several books on food systems and global environmental challenges. He holds honorary doctorates from [https://umu.ac.ug/ Uganda Martyrs University] and the [https://www.slu.se/en/ Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences], and is a member of the [https://www.ksla.se/en/ Royal Swedish Academy of Agriculture and Forestry]. He lives and farms in Sweden.
