Lorenzo Hofstetter is an independent researcher and co-creator/COO of the Phersu Atlas database (2022). He holds a degree in archaeology from the University of Florence and collaborates with journals in Italy and Switzerland. In 2023, he curated the exhibition Cacao entre dos Mundos at the Biblioteca Medicea Laurenziana in Florence, Italy, and in 2025, published Colonial Florence with the CAPASIA Project at the European University Institute. His research focuses on historical cartography, cultural history, and world history.
