Download the plugin for your browser from the link below that corresponds to the browser you use for editing on the Observatory:

It will appear in your extensions as LT (Language Tool).
 
Use the Free version, not the Pro version.

===== Set the extension settings to add the Observatory as the server =====
In the plugin/extensions preferences (if you click the LT icon in your browser, you should see a Settings icon gear wheel to click), navigate to '''Advanced settings (only for professional users)''' (at the bottom).
 
Specify the Observatory LanguageTool server by:
 
# going to the field “LanguageTool server:”
# then selecting the radio button for “Other server—requires LanguageTool server running there”
# and then typing <code><nowiki>https://apply.observatory.wiki/v2</nowiki></code>
# and finally, clicking “Save.”
 
One last setup step (or thing to check is left as the default): Leave the field “'''Autocheck on all domains'''” checkbox in the checked position.
 
===== How to Review Suggestions by LanguageTool in the Observatory =====
As you review suggestions, you can choose to accept or ignore the suggested corrections. If you encounter an issue that you expect to come up again, you can choose to add the word to your personal dictionary.

You can also access the list of suggestions in a sidebar, rather than one pop-up at a time.

You can customize your settings by clicking the LT icon in your browser and adjust for pickiness:
