[[Project:Types of Content#Collaborative Research and Mainframes|Collaborative Research]] is an open-ended investigatory tool that allows multiple contributors to explore a topic, deciding what to share with the public through a peer research and editorial oversight process. Unlike Articles or Guides that don’t use this feature, Collaborative Research pages give interested audiences access to text with ongoing queries—the work in progress is part of the point. A related content type, the [[Project:Types of Content#Collaborative Research and Mainframes|Mainframe]], is a knowledge-gathering project designed to be expanded by future scholars and researchers, building on the original Author’s line of inquiry and methods while broadening its scope. The Info/Talk page tools described in this section apply to both content types.
