Gyoza (Pan-Fried Dumplings)

Ingredients

  • 30 gyoza wrappers
  • 300g ground pork
  • 1 cup napa cabbage (minced, salted, squeezed)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 2 tbsp soy
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sake
  • oil
  • water

Method

  1. Mixing — Mix pork, cabbage, garlic, ginger, soy, sesame, sake.
  2. Filling — Fill wrappers; fold with pleats.
  3. Step 3 — Pan-fry in oil until golden on bottom.
  4. Adding — Add ¼ cup water; cover; steam 3 min.
  5. Step 5 — Uncover; cook until crisp again.
  6. Serving — Serve with ponzu or vinegar/soy dip.
