Plato's account of Atlantis describes a magnificent island civilization that vanished into the sea after incurring the wrath of the gods. While long considered an allegory for hubris, the myth has inspired thousands of years of exploration for a real-world location. From the Eye of the Sahara to the submerged ruins of the Atlantic, the hunt for this lost superpower remains history's most persistent mystery.

Our research looks at geological catastrophes, such as the Thera eruption and rising sea levels, to find a physical anchor for Plato's descriptions. We are tracking the geological anomalies and ancient climate data to see where the legend meets the earth. We are picking up the trails of evidence across the Mediterranean and beyond.
