The European Meeting for PhD students in Evolutionary Biology (EMPSEB) is a student-led annual conference that brings together passionate PhD researchers from around the world to share ideas, present cutting-edge science, and build lasting collaborations. Since 1995, EMPSEB has been a cornerstone event empowering the next generation of evolutionary biologists.
The upcoming edition, EMPSEB 31, will take place at the Ahorn Hotel am Fichtelberg in Oberwiesenthal, Germany, from the 8th to 12th of June, 2026.

To attend EMPSEB 31 (8-12 June, 2026), you must be a PhD student at the time of the conference and not have attended previous editions of EMPSEB.
All participants are to present their work as a short, 10-12-minute talk with a slideshow presentation. In addition, participants are encouraged to present their work as a traditional poster or as a creative alternative presentation. There will be prizes for best performance in all three categories!
