Archaeological excavations resume at the Paleosite and more precisely at the archaeological site La Roche à Pierrot, where Pierrette's skeleton was discovered in 1979, a Neanderthal individual! The team of archaeologists, led by Isabelle Crevecoeur, a research fellow at CNRS, will be present for a month to carry out a new archaeological excavation campaign. The world-famous Paleosite is exceptional because it is one of the few sites that cover the period of cohabitation between Sapiens and Neanderthals.
For a month, visitors will have the chance to observe archaeologists at work during the guided tours. A unique opportunity to discover behind the scenes of scientific research, to better understand excavation methods, and to learn more about this emblematic site of Prehistory.Participants
