David Graeber once wrote: “Historically, the association between gold, war, and debt is not a coincidence. Coins were invented to pay soldiers. Soldiers looted gold. Gold was brought back to the mint. Taxes were paid in coins — by the very people whose villages the soldiers had just passed through.”
So the question we want to bring to that conversation is: how do we build a system that projects stability — rather than one that keeps pulling us toward war?Participants
