A Multimodal Discourse Analysis of NASAʼs Instagram Account

This study examines posts from NASA’s official @nasa Instagram account in order to understand how the agency communicated with the public in 2022 about its Artemis I mission. It concludes that NASA’s Instagram posts displayed an action- and transformation-oriented message centered around storytelling of the agency’s goals and activities. Overall, the data present a cohesive message in terms of multimodal communication for the general public.
