The next event in the IoA/British Museum Medieval Archaeology Seminar Series will be given by Sam Leggett (University of Edinburgh) entitled 'Migrations into early medieval England: integrating isotopes and aDNA.'
This talk explores migration patterns in early medieval England from c. AD 400–1100 using multi-scalar isotopic and aDNA data, highlighting some individual migration stories. These patterns are gendered, regionally distinctive and fluctuate chronologically. Contrary to traditional narratives of discrete migratory events the data show continuous movement, as well as reflecting climatic events across the period.Key Speaker: Sam Leggett
