Date Fudge

Ingredients
  • 1 c. brown sugar
  • 2 c. white sugar
  • 1 c. milk or cream
  • ¼ lb. (1 c.) stoned dates
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • 1 tbsp. glucose or honey
  • 1 tbsp. lemon extract
  • 1 tbsp. vanilla extract
  • Speck salt
Directions
  1. Put sugar, butter, milk and glucose into sauce-pan.
  2. Boil slowly to soft ball or 236°F.
  3. Remove from fire and add extracts.
  4. When cool beat until creamy.
  5. Add chopped dates.
  6. Pour into greased tins.
