Ingredients
  • ½ c. boiling water
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ⅓ tsps. cream of tartar
Directions
1.
Put ingredients in smooth sauce pan and stir until it begins to boil.
2.
Boil slowly until the syrup begins to discolor which is 310°F.
3.
Remove sauce pan from fire, place in pan of cold water to stop its cooking and then place in pan of hot water while dipping.
4.
Skewer nuts separately on hat pin and dip in syrup, being careful each is well covered.
5.
Place each on well greased dish to harden.
