Peanut Brittle I

Ingredients
  • 2 c. sugar
  • 1 qt. nut meats
  • ¼ tsp. salt
Directions
1.
Shell, skin and chop coarsely the peanuts. Sprinkle with salt.
2.
Melt sugar in perfectly smooth kettle such as an iron or aluminum frying pan, stirring constantly so that it carmelizes evenly.
3.
Add nuts and pour at once into well buttered tins.
Remarks

Other nuts may be used instead of peanuts such as pecans, almonds or walnuts.
