Potato Chocolate Cake

- Ingredients
- 2 c. sugar
- ⅔ c. fat
- 1 c. hot mashed potatoes (unseasoned)
- ½ c. sweet milk or cold water or coffee
- 2 c. flour
- 2 tsp. baking powder
- 2 sq. chocolate
- 1 c. chopped nuts
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. cloves
- ½ tsp. nutmeg
- 4 eggs
- Directions
1.
Cream butter and sugar, add well beaten egg yolks.

Add hot mashed potatoes, then alternately the flour, sifted with baking powder, cinnamon, cloves and nutmeg and milk.

Add melted chocolate.
4.
Stir in nut meats and fold in stiffly beaten whites.
5.
Bake in two layers.
