Ingredients

• 1 c. sugar
• ½ c. fat
• 1 c. raisins, cut fine
• 1 c. nuts, chopped fine
• 1 tsp. baking powder
• 1 egg
• ½ tsp. soda
• 2 c. flour
• ½ tsp. cloves
• 1 c. sour milk or boiling water
• 2 tsp. cinnamon
• ½ tsp. nutmeg

Directions

1.

Mix as butter cake.

2.

Bake in moderate oven as loaf.

Remarks

Very satisfactory plain cake.
