  • Stale bread
  • Melted butter

  • Oven or frying-pan
  • Dish or bowl
  • Serving spoon

Cut stale bread into ½-inch squares, and brown either in the oven or in melted butter in the frying-pan.

The croutons should be placed on the table in a dish or bowl, with a spoon for serving.
