Introduction

The writing system of the Indus Valley Civilization remains one of the world's most significant undeciphered scripts. Short pictographic inscriptions on seals and tablets offer a silent record of a culture that thrived 4,000 years ago, but the lack of a bilingual text like the Rosetta Stone makes translation difficult. Solving the script would help us understand the social, political, and literary history of this massive civilization.
